What a celebrant does
A celebrant creates and conducts a service, for example funerals, weddings, vow renewals, hand fasting and baby naming to name a few. The service is conducted in line with the wishes of the family. There are no rules – the service can be tailored to whatever you want it to be, which means you don’t have to feel as if you are on a conveyor belt of tradition.
I am Paula, a Sussex-based celebrant dedicated to offering a compassionate service for people at the most significant times in their lives. Whether it’s saying goodbye to a loved one, a happy couple wishing to marry or commit to each other or celebrating the arrival and naming of a new member of the family.
Together we can create a personal ceremony and mark the occasion in a way that will be most memorable to you. If family members and friends wish to speak at the service, I will always encourage them to do so, and will be right at their side, if needed, to support them in their delivery.

Why Use Celebrant
Let your imagination run wild and think about what you really want. A Celebrant-led ceremony means that I will be there to work with you and create your beautiful, personal and unique ceremony that will be completely bespoke to you.
You can choose what to include, religious elements, spiritual readings, interfaith vows or completely non religious. This is not something a minister, a registrar or a humanist can provide.
You are not restricted by location, it can be anywhere you choose, as long as you have the land owners permission. Hotels, nature reserves, a family home, a marquee, a pub, even a boat or in the middle of the woods. The best thing is Celebrants aren’t governed by time or weather!
Your ceremony will leave a wonderful lasting memory as its your ceremony and your choice, you are in control. Celebrant ceremonies are a perfect choice if you want a small private ceremony abroad before having a larger celebration on your return.
